ZERO-TO-HERO (THAILAND)
ZERO-TO-HERO (Z2H)
The Zero-to-Hero Foundation is dedicated to providing active learning for Thailand’s children, starting with its Baby Club for infants from 6 months to 2 years and culminating in preparation of youth in upper secondary school for participation in the modern Value-based Era (4.0). Essential elements include early development of critical skills (physical skills, social skills, emotional skills, communication skills and cognitive skills). Through the HighScope approach, children learn to plan, do and review at an early age. Students also all learn English at an early age through the interactive Moomin English Language Program.
SCHOOL COOPERATION
Z2H staff members collaborate with teachers in the local government school in the Huana Village to implement active-learning based on Finnish education model. The curriculum helps students develop thinking skills and initiative instead of spending up to five hours a day passively watching television lectures beamed from Bangkok into their classrooms. Z2H is also consulting with the Obodjo Secondary School and has provided workshops for its teachers.
AMBITIOUS TARGETS
The goals are ( 1 ) for every child who makes the full Zero-to-Hero journey from 0 to 18 to have a good future and be capable of taking care of her/his family and ( 2 ) for the Z2H approach to spread to other schools in Phetchabun Province and throughout Thailand.
